I understand that smartphones are part of kid's lives today and that they can be used as a tool to enhance teaching and learning, specially for art where you will find apps and tools that are very helpful but as a parent of teenagers I'm a little concerned with this idea.

I like the idea of using smartphones WITH the students rather than against them. I think it's really important to stay up to date with the times, and since smartphones are so important in the lives of students today, why not show them how to safely and responsibly use them, and teach them how to use them in ways that can benefit them in their art practice?

I really enjoyed this article, it made me think of how I can implement fun and creative tools for my future teaching career. Times are changing and it is becoming harder to keep students engaged in what they are doing in school. It is a great idea to implement cell phones in schooling. Since there are many amazing apps and websites specifically looking to help children learn new ways of studying, staying focused, and organizing why not give it a try. I think having students use their phones for educational purposes during class can get them out of that slump of their classroom routine, by having them engage with teachers and their classmates in a way that is fun and different.

I think our cellphones can be such a great tool, especially a great art tool. I know some people might say they could be a distraction in the classroom but as long as we know how to monitor it, we'll be fine. Teachers can come up with great projects that involve technology and cellphones.

Reading this article reminded me of high school and how smartphones were highly frowned upon by teachers. However, phones are really useful as stated in the article. Personally I use my phone as a calendar and set daily reminders for myself because it is a tool that I always have with me. I enjoyed reading the article and seeing how progress is being made and teachers are looking at technology different

This article just proved that this is a common issue throughout all schools. I understand that smartphone have become a new phenomena that educator have to face however one should not be looked as hindrance but rather an asset. It is great to hear that it has this though process has evolved and has better the lives of both the educators and students.
